Step 1: Submit Your VEP Application On The JPJ Website
Create your username and password. If you forgot an existing password, do a password reset (note that JPJ and TC Sens password resets are separate).
Understanding the Three Account Categories
Category | Importance | Description |
Vehicle Owner | Most important | Person who owns the vehicle (multiple owners possible under one Profile) |
Driver | Important | Person who will drive in JB (multiple drivers possible) |
Profile | Not important | Just for login credentials (email and contact details only) |
For Second-Hand Vehicle Owners Alert
If you encounter an error when entering chassis/vehicle number, this indicates the previous owner registered a VEP. Stop your current application and proceed directly to Step 2 for deregistration.
For Non-Singaporeans
If you are a Singapore PR, select “No” for Singapore PR and “No” for Work Permit. Detailed guide here
Do’s and Don’ts
✅ DO:
- Submit Vehicle Owner information exactly as in NRIC (including name, address, hanyu pinyin)
- Copy and paste from Vehicle Log Card for vehicle details (COE, engine, chassis numbers)
- Add all drivers who will use the car
- Click the confirmation email link from JPJ to activate TC Sens access
- Print VEP Registration Confirmation for your vehicle
❌ DON’T:
- Go directly to TC Sens website without clicking email link
- Submit company vehicle as private ownership (can’t be fixed)
- Proceed if COE expires in less than 6 months
IMPORTANT ALERTS:
- Short COE validity: If your COE expires in less than 6 months, your VEP will not be approved. Simply print the VEP Registration Confirmation Slip and keep it in your vehicle as proof of registration.
- New vehicle owners: If your vehicle is not second-hand or doesn’t have a previously registered VEP, you can skip Step 2 entirely and continue with Step 3.
When using your own car, you need to apply for VEP. For a hassle-free experience, just book a Singapore to JB private taxi instead. The driver will pick you up from any point in Singapore and directly transfer you to JB or other destinations in Malaysia.

Step 2: Deregister The VEP Linked To The Previous Owner Of Your Second-Hand Car
Go to the TC Sens website and click “Request for Deregistration? Click Here”. Follow the steps and submit the information.

Tracking Your Application

- Use computer for One Motoring access
- Check status regularly
- Submit second deregistration if still blocked after a week
- Save reference number in a document
❌ DON’T:

eWallet Registration Steps:

- Enter your passport number to create your profile
- Tap on your name and complete eKYC verification (takes a few days)
EWALLET ACCOUNT ERRORS SOLUTION: If you made errors in account creation (wrong ID type, typo, or duplicate account), follow the steps below:
Step 1: Contact Touch n Go Careline: https://support.tngdigital.com.my/hc/en-my/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001558914 – Careline provides better support than “Chat with Us” in-app function.
Step 2: After submitting your query, create the follow-up account mentioned in their email response for better tracking and resolution.
Post-Verification Setup:
- Launch Touch n Go eWallet app after verification
- Navigate: “More” → “Transport” section → “VEP JPJ” icon
- Click “verify” and update your full NRIC including alphabets
- Click “Save” to submit
For Non-Singaporeans, you should provide nationality and passport number only (no Singapore NRIC needed) and complete eVerification in the app. Follow the link for detailed guide: https://support.tngdigital.com.my/hc/en-my/articles/41235762881433-How-does-the-system-work-for-Malaysian-Users-holding-a-Singaporean-PR

Step 4: Log In To The TC Sens Website Using The Same Username And Password

✅ What to Do After Submission
- 📩 Check your email for the VEP registration confirmation.
- 🖨️ Print the confirmation and keep it in your car when driving to JB.
- ⏱️ Be patient — there’s no queue system. As of 1 Mar 2025, VEPs are usually approved within 3 hours during office hours (9 am–5 pm); fastest was 3 minutes.
- 🛠️ If you made a typo, you’ll get an email with amendment instructions.
- Just log in and accept the changes — approval is usually immediate.
⚠️ Common Issues & Fixes
- 🔄 If you entered incorrect info on the JPJ website, you can amend it on the TC Sens site. The correct info will later sync with JPJ.
- 📱 Most rejections happen because your Touch ‘n Go eWallet phone number or NRIC doesn’t match the Vehicle Owner’s details. Double-check your submission before finalizing.
- ❌ If your VEP is rejected, review your documents and resubmit with correct info.
