1. Overview
If you’re heading to Tioman Island, Mersing Jetty is the main departure point. It’s the closest ferry terminal to Singapore and easily accessible by coach or public transport.
From Mersing Jetty, you have two options:
- Ferries to Tioman Island – Operated by Bluewater Express and Cataferry.
- Speedboats to nearby islands – Rawa, Besar, Aur, and others.
Before boarding, travelers must stop at Mersing Harbour Centre to:
- Collect their physical ferry ticket.
- Pay the Marine Park Fee.

Once that’s done, head to the waiting hall at Mersing Jetty and wait for the ferry.
Mersing Jetty ferry schedule is based on tides, so departure times change daily.
The ferry ride takes longer compared to Teluk Gading Jetty, and expect bigger crowds during weekends and public holidays.

Before heading to the ferry departure hall, your first stop is Mersing Harbour Centre.
This is where you book ferry tickets at the counter or, if you’ve purchased them online, collect your physical tickets.

Ticket collection counters are as follows:
- W1 & W2 for Bluewater Express
- W5 for Cataferry
While you’re here, don’t forget to pay the Marine Park Conservation Fee at Counter R23. Once that’s settled, the ferry departure hall is just a short 100-meter walk from here.
If you’re driving yourself or taking a private car hire, don’t go straight to the jetty, make a stop here first to sort out your tickets and fees.

1.3 Rawa Island Resort Office
There’s a quick stop you’ll need to make if you’re heading to Rawa Island.
Before boarding the speedboat, all travelers must register their names and departure arrangements at the Rawa Island Resort Office.
The office is conveniently located right next to the ferry departure hall for Tioman Island.
Driving to Mersing Jetty? Rawa Island guests get priority parking at the Rawa Island Resort Office Car Park, so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot.

2.1 Private Taxi From Singapore To Mersing Jetty


The easiest way to get to Mersing Jetty is by booking a private taxi from Singapore to Mersing Jetty.
You’ll get picked up from anywhere in Singapore and travel straight to Mersing Jetty in a comfortable 7 to 10-seater MPV—no dragging luggage around, no getting off at immigration.
Just pass your passport to the driver, show your face, and you’re good to go.
If you’re traveling with kids or elderly family members, this is by far the most hassle-free option.
You can also leave early to make sure you reach Mersing Jetty in time for your ferry, even on long weekends or public holidays.
During booking, the customer service team will estimate your departure time from Singapore based on your ferry schedule at Mersing Jetty.

2.2 Coach From Singapore To Mersing Jetty
A coach to Mersing Jetty is a budget-friendly option for solo travelers or small groups of fewer than five. But with five or more people, a private taxi offers better value and convenience.

2.3 Car (Self Driving)
If you’re driving to Mersing Jetty, you’ll need to find a place to park before boarding the ferry.
Parking is available near the jetty, but most options are outdoor car parks without shelter, with a daily rate of RM15.

You can purchase the ticket online via Cataferry and Bluewater Ferry or at the jetty ticketing counter (although this method is not recommended).
Additionally, there is only speedboat available from Mersing Jetty to nearby islands such as Rawa Island, Aur Island, Tinggi Island, Besar Island, etc.
4. Marine Park Conservation Fee
A Marine Park Conservation Fee is required for all visitors to Tioman and nearby islands. Here are the fees:

5. Departure Procedure For Bluewater Express & Cataferry
Follow these steps to board your ferry.
Step 1: Fill out the online check-in form.
Step 2:
- Collect your boarding pass at Mersing Harbour Centre.
- Go to Counter W1 or W2 for Bluewater Express and Counter W5 for Cataferry.
- Collection must be done at least an hour before departure for Bluewater Express and 30 minutes before entering the ferry hall for Cataferry.
- Reminder: Counters close 20 minutes before boarding for Bluewater Express and 30 minutes before boarding for Cataferry. A valid boarding pass is required to board.
Step 3: Pay the Marine Park Conservation Fee at Counter R23.
Step 4: Walk 100 meters to the ferry departure hall from Mersing Habour Center.
Step 5: Show your boarding pass and board the ferry.
