Taking a BatamFast ferry to Desaru from Singapore is a pretty straightforward way to get to the resort town.
It’s about a 90-minute ride from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal. Upon arrival, you can board a free shuttle bus to any of the following places:
- Anantara Desaru Resort
- Westin Desaru Resort
- Hard Rock Hotel Desaru
- ELS Club Desaru Coast – Ocean Course
- ELS Club Desaru Coast – Valley Course
- Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal
However, I’d only suggest taking the ferry if there are only 1-2 of you. If you’re travelling in a group or with family, it will be more cost effective to take a private taxi.
Tips:
- You should arrive at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal 30-45 minutes before departure time
- Best to avoid travelling during weekends or on public holidays

- Comfortable MPV vehicle with ample space
- Stay inside the car during immigration clearance
- Flexible pick-up time

Cons:
- Traffic at the SG-MY border
- Expensive if travelling alone or in a pair
Recommended For:
- Families, kids, elderly people, groups of 4 or more
Price Range:
SGD 150 to SGD 190 per car one way
