So you’re in search of a Johor to Mersing taxi.
Well, after having travelled from JB to Mersing several times ourselves, we know a thing or two about taxi options.
We’ve identified 3 Johor to Mersing taxis you can choose from.
Some are pretty solid options, but at the end of the day, it all depends on your needs and requirements.
1. Private Taxi
The most convenient and preferred option is Johor to Mersing taxi. What is this exactly?
From SGD 140 one way per car, a private taxi, such as JBTAXI.SG, is a luxury MPV vehicle (7 to 10-seater MPV) that you can book to take you directly from one place to another.
It’s especially useful when you’re rushing to catch the ferry as the private taxi will advise you on the best time to depart from JB.
If you have a ton of luggage, or are traveling in a group or family, a private taxi is the best taxi option you can find here.
What if you’re planning to come up from Singapore instead? Well, a private taxi can pick you up from Singapore as well, so just opt for a Singapore to Mersing taxi.

2. Grab Ride-Hailing Service
Another option is Grab, an app-based e-hailing service.
Grab fares are determined by demand, location, timing, and type of vehicle selected. A journey from JB to Mersing Jetty can cost you anywhere from RM 250 to RM 750 for a 4-seater car.
It can be more expensive if you choose, say, a 6-seater car or choose to travel during peak hours.
However, if you prefer consistent fares, you’re better off booking a Johor to Mersing taxi instead.
Note:
- Be warned! Your Grab driver mightrefuse to pick you up because it’s a long trip to Mersing. So consider carefully if you plan to take a Grab car.
3. Local Taxi Service
Finally, you can also take a traditional public taxi from Johor to Mersing. This can set you back about RM 150.00 to RM 250.00 per taxi.
You can try and catch one from popular spots such as JB Sentral, JB City Square, Larkin Sentral, or Senai Airport.
Taking a public taxi might not be very convenient because you can’t book in advance or via app like Grab. You just have to hope to be near a taxi pick-up location.
A public taxi also won’t be as comfortable as a private taxi.
Note:
- A public taxi can only carry up to 4 passengers per car.
